The CTAS-sponsored New Braunfels Community Thanksgiving Dinner was a great success. Community volunteer drivers delivered over 700 meals to homebound families and s served more than 1,000 meals at the McKenna Events Center. In addition, dozens of walk-ins were given take-home boxes of turkey, all the trimmings and pumpkin pie. Left-over pies were donated to local facilities. Thank to all the members of CTAS, the West Side Community Center and The Institute for Public Health and Education Research (TIPHER) that contributed or helped at the event. Special thanks to the over 400 community volunteers who helped prep, deliver, serve, and clean up. And a big Texas hats-off to Domingo Medina, outgoing CTAS Vice Chair, for heading up the event planning committee and coordinating the event on short notice. |
